Charles Eric “Chuck” Astwood, Jr. Born: November 4, 1927 at Cape Hatien, Haiti to Charles and Adela Socias Astwood. Died: July 18, 2009 at the Norman Regional Hospital. Age: 81 Chuck migrated to the United States as a young child and received his Doctorate of Dentistry in 1949 from the state of Connecticut. He came to the Davis, Oklahoma area in 1968 and practiced as a Denturist in Davis up until his death. He married Joan Robinson Beavers on September 10, 2001 in Maysville. Chuck enjoyed his family, theater, talking, never meeting a stranger, dining out, and being good to Joan, calling her his “Sweet Princess”. Chuck was known as a planner and organizer and did quality dental work with clients coming from a wide area. Survivors: His wife, Joan of the home in Davis. 2 Step-sons: Larry and Melba Beavers of Moore, Oklahoma and Steve Beavers of Norman Daughter: Genieve and Jose Angullo of Miami, Florida Step-Daughter: Cheryl and Brent Rogers of Oklahoma City. Brothers: Edwin and Miriam Astwood of San Antonio, Texas; Victor and Sue Astwood of Lubbock, Texas; and Edgar and Brenda Astwood of West Long Branch, New Jersey. 8 Grandchildren: Aileen Angullo, Step-grandchildren: Christopher Rogers, Lauren Rogers, Lisa Peter, Daniel Beavers, Kirsty Church, Karen Davidson, and Kevin Beavers. 7 Great-Grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews and many friends and clients made throughout the many years. Charley Henthorn officiating with burial in the Maysville Cemetery under the direction of John Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville.
